We take pride in our Loretto family...day by day

Third Grade

                                  WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE

Greetings 3rd Grade Parents!

My name is Aida Martinez and I am truly excited to be your child’s teacher for school year 2016-2017. I am truly blessed to once again be a part of the Loretto family, as I was the 1st grade teacher from 2003-2010 and have very fond and wonderful memories from my time here. I am looking forward to making many more great memories with your child/children as we work hand in hand to make this a successful academic journey for your child.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development and Education, I hold a Site Supervisor permit in Early Childhood and I am certified as a Eucharistic minister and currently working on my Catechist certification. I have been an administrator in the capacities of Dean of Discipline for the lower grades (TK-5th), interim-director for a child development center, WASC Head organizer and team leader and have accredited several Catholic schools. I have also taught CCD in the past, served as religious retreat facilitator, lector and choir member of the Our Lady of Loretto parish.

I am a product of a Catholic school education from elementary all the way up to college. This educational upbringing has instilled in me to put God as my main source of strength and courage in life and with a strong catholic faith, believe that we all have a purpose in life! I regard service to the church of utmost importance and hope to encourage and set an example to my 3rd grade class about our Faith and to answer the Gospel’s message of service.

My main goal for this school year is for my 3rd graders to find passion in their new discoveries in all the academic subjects, and to be excited as they use technology and public speaking skills to convey this information to others. I expect for them to develop a sense responsibility in everything they do in and out of the classroom. They must be independent and take their own initiative with their behavior, studies, homework, projects etc. They must take responsibility for their own actions and face consequences head on and to learn from their mistakes. With the knowledge acquired, I also challenge the 3rd grade class to convey the Gospel’s message in all that they do and find ways to become stewards of our Catholic faith in becoming the best that they can be!

I am confident and excited for this school year, together with you the parents, myself and the Loretto school community; hand in hand together we will work to make it a successful year. We will work in preparing your son/daughter to be academically prepared for the next grade level and for them to be spiritually ready to serve the faith community and to become a responsible citizen of society.

I thank you on advance for your continued support and dedicated cooperation with me and the Loretto school community, let us keep an open communication in all that we must do for your children to strive to make your child/children’s Catholic school education a huge success!

Thank you and God Bless,

Miss Aida Martinez
