Hello OLL Families
I look forward to working with my students and their families this school year as their 5th-grade teacher. I attended Taos Elementary and later graduated from Taos high school both located in Taos, New Mexico. I graduated from the University of Alaska Southeast with a B.S. in Marine Biology. I worked as a substitute teacher with American Martyrs and Torrance Unified District. I also volunteered as a catechism teacher while I was living in Juneau, Alaska during my years in college. I am a volunteer scuba diver at the California Science Center and have been diving for two years. I previously was a Teacher’s Assistant with Goldbelt Heritage Foundation High School and Middle School summer camps where a science credit was given to students. The science camps also incorporated Alaska Native culture into the curriculum. I have many hats of experience from working with science education and students revolving around educational opportunities through my experience as a marine biologist and teacher. This is my first year teaching 5th and 6th grade. I have been surrounded by my faith and I am excited to be in an environment where my faith will continue to grow with my students. Becoming a teacher has been one of my callings and I love seeing my students being inspired to learn. I hope to bring value to Our Lady of Loretto, and I believe my skills, motivation, and passion will meet the requirements as your new 5th and 6th-grade teacher. One of my focuses for this upcoming school year will be motivating my students to ask questions, be engaging, and learn my Spanish. We will be improving Reading and comprehension skills through SFA.
Gracias,
Thank you,
God Bless,
